Sectoral benchmarking for industry associations
SBR Nexus is developing a use case in cooperation with multiple industry associations where data of industry association members is shared with industry associations to create valuable insights about the whole sector. This concerns different types of data, stored at different sources (e.g. financial data stored at an accountant, production efficiency data stored in machines, and/or CO2 footprint data stored at energy providers). Extracting, analysing and reporting this data allows an industry association to provide its members and the larger public (e.g. government agencies) with aggregated insights and trends in industry performance in different relevant (policy) areas. As a next step these insights could be used to benchmark an organisation’s individual performance relative to its peers.
The Data Sharing Coalition is supporting this use case and will create a generic use case design that is scalable to different industry associations, by mapping the generic and industry specific use case requirements (e.g. (scalable) standards, rules and agreements). This enables industry associations in all domains to accelerate implementation of a scalable data sharing infrastructure for consuming data of its members.
